Global Grant - Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Drop-In Center, Topeka, KS

The project created a drop-in center for victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse in central Topeka, KS to support victims’ psychosocial needs and assist with basic needs by providing food, locker storage, shower facilities, laundry facilities, and a safe place to rest. The Day Center is an entry point for longer-term community support services, rescue, and reintegration to the community. This project supports Rotary’s peace and conflict prevention/resolution area of focus. This grant was made possible by funding from District 5710, District 3141 Mumbai India, Rotary Club of Topeka, Rotary Club of Topeka South, and Tyler & Allison Crow. YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment, our partnering organization, does an incredible job of managing, staffing, and maintaining the Day Center.
